The Shower Doctor has prepared a short guide to help you identify a fault in your shower. By choosing the shower type and then the fault symptoms you should be able to identify the problem. You may also find it useful to visit our new Fault Diagnosis Forum. There are three main types of shower. What kind of shower do you have?
Electric: These showers heat their own water and are usually connected directly to the water and electric mains. They can range from 6kw. > 11kw. Mixer: These showers blend hot and cold water. There are two main types of mixer showers simple blending valves and thermostatically controlled blenders. A pump is often added to this type of shower and will then be referred to as a Cabinet: These showers have a blending valve, (simple or thermostatic) and a small pump in the same cabinet and are sometimes referred to as a Power Shower.
